Episode 67: Bird Babes

We’re flying into a new episode this week, chatting about avian monsters. We learn about avians in history, before soaring into sexuality. Yes, we chat Cloacas. Then we dive into our media, like Howard the Duck, before rating our feathered friends, and nesting in some cursed AO3. Soar into this episode… and play now!

Media we consumed:

Howard the Duck

Howard the Duck is a 1986 American superhero comedy film directed by Willard Huyck and starring Lea Thompson, Jeffrey Jones, and Tim Robbins. Based on the Marvel Comics character Howard the Duck, the film was produced by Gloria Katz and written by Huyck and Katz, with George Lucasas executive producer. The screenplay was originally intended to be an animated film, but the film adaptation became live-action because of a contractual obligation. While several TV adaptations of Marvel characters were aired, this was the first theatrical release since the Captain America serial of 1944.

Blood Feathers: A Steamy Monster Romance (The Apex Series Book 2)

by Vicky Walklate

Zookeeper Evelyn Mulholland is single and proud of it. Fickle, flirty and fancy free, she’s impossible to tie down and likes it that way – at least, that’s what she wants people to think. No man can knock her off her guard… but what about a monster?

Discovering that her best friend is dating a crocodile demon is shocking enough, but when another monster arrives needing assistance, life gets even more surreal. Eagle monster Jax is bold, charming and very keen to get Evelyn into bed. Despite her fascination with his soft feathers, razor-sharp talons and extremely talented vibrating tongue, she resists, sick of meaningless flings that lead nowhere.

But when a team of monster hunters arrive, determined to capture Jax at any cost, events take a deadly turn. Evelyn may turn out to be his only hope for survival. Whether her heart survives the encounter is another matter.
